UPDATE: Patch v. 1.1.6 is now available for both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U versions of the new Super Smash Bros. Balancing seems to only effect Bayonetta, leaving all other characters and features of the game untouched.
Nintendo’s Japanese website has listed that a new patch for both Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and for 3DS (ver. 1.1.6) will be launching sometime in may, and will “adjust the balance of the game”. No other information, including an exact date and time, or what in the game will be balanced, is provided. You will need 61 MB of free space on your Wii U and 325 MB (2,600 blocks) of free space on your 3DS to install the update from the eShop.
What kind of character balancing would you like to see? The last patch brought in some significant changes perceived tier list in the competitive scene, with Bayonetta quickly rising in rank and dominance in tournament play. And while Nintendo may not sharing the details of the balance patch, the resourceful members of Smash Boards and /r/smashbros/ will quickly text the game to find out specifics changes for each character.
